What inspired me originally was the fact that these teeny tiny needles could fix such a wide variety of symptoms -headaches and hypertension? Chinese Medicine appeals to me because it is the simplifying of treatments - just a few methods - that can transform lives. If Allopathic medicine is for the symptom, TCM is for the system.
I use traditional diagnostic methods to discover the underlying causes of complaints and I customize each treatment based on the patient’s constitution.
I utilize a combination of :
Acupuncture
Craniosacral Therapy
Cupping
Moxibustion
Myofascial release
Food Cures
Swedish Massage and Tuina
and Gua-Sha
I am a Registered Acupuncturist and Registered Massage Therapist in the Province of British Columbia and a Member in Good Standing in both the CTCMA and the CMTBC. I have a R.TCM.P Diploma and am currently studying to write the Chinese Herbal Board Exam.
Recreation time?
When I have the opportunity to feel relatively caught up on everything, Yoga is my go-to place for calm. My favorite classes are Vinyasa Flow and Power. When I practice regularly, I do everything else in life better.
Hugo, Frankie, Derek and I love to ride our bikes around Stanley Park, tend the worms in our community garden plot and we visit the Aquarium as much as we can. We also have been exploring the city's playgrounds for the best slides, cafe's for the best pain au chocolate, and farmers markets for mostly anything green!
In any other free time I may occasionally find, I love reading food blogs and finding nutritious food that an eight AND four year old will eat!
